Ephesians 4:11-16

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

1 Timothy 5:17, 18

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

Why are they worthy of support?

Ministers and missionaries are Christians that are putting their faith to work. They usually work long hard hours making it difficult to work on the side without sacrificing their calling or health, even though they must (i.e. leaving a country to work or raise support); they habitually sacrifice time with friends and more importantly family; they regularly sacrifice a lower standard of living for their families; many times they take their families to countries that are much different and hard on health and living conditions; sometime put in jail; they frequently have to move their families from place to place; frequently they are misunderstood and criticized for doing what they are doing by friends and family, etc. These are just a start of the sacrifices that these brothers and sisters in Christ often make for their labors in Christ.

Even if they did not make the above sacrifices they would still be permitted by God to receive income from the body of Christ for their labors just as everyone else does for their secular work.

How Hopeline Christian Society will pay ministers and missionaries!

All ministers and missionaries that Hopeline Christian Society supports financially will have to be a part of a 501(c)3 or Revenue Canada authorized Christian charitable organization. This is because we will legally be restricted to operate this way. Although we will help independent ministers and missionaries from 3rd world countries if they are truly serving Christ and are willing to come under an accountability structure that we will hold them to.

Secondly they must be a Christian and agree to our statement of faith.

Next they need to be a Hopeline Christian Society member. Once a minister or missionary becomes a Hopeline Christian Society member they can apply to be a “Supported Minister or Missionary Member.” When their initial membership is received then they can be put on the "Minister and Missionary List (explained below)." After it has been determined that they are meeting the above requirements they will be accepted as a supported “Minister or Missionary Member” and be able to receive financial support when their name comes up on the list.

Minister and missionary memberships follow the minister or missionary not the organization. If a minister or missionary quits their organization and continues with another acceptable Christian missions organization or church the support will follow them to the new organization as long as they remain a minister or missionary, if not the support will end.

Ministers and missionaries that are supported must remain a Hopeline Christian Society member to continue receiving support.

Ministers and missionaries must maintain a *proper relationship with Jesus Christ and live how scripture tells us how a Christian leader is to live to continue recieving support.

*Proper relationship with Jesus Christ is to live a Moral Christian lifestyle (i.e. not a drunkard, no illegal conduct [except preaching the Gospel where illegal, etc.], sexual immorality, etc).

We are not presently taking on any more missionary members for support due to lack of funds.

Important information for Ministers and Missionaries:

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRALGoTaHAcppKD1LetvcTxhvB04hkbdo4e_xcpVPeFfzosejgcgQWe want this ministry to be right before God and to ensure (at least as much as is possible) that God's ministers and missionaries are walking with Christ and hearing His voice in their ministry to Him and His kingdom. So we will encourage as much as possible ministers and missionaries to meet the Minimum Spiritual and Moral Disciplines.

I know that the ministers and missionaries on average are not spending enough time with God. This is not happening as much as it should any more with many ministers and missionaries are being over worked and too tired to take the time with Jesus without falling a sleep or to even try and spend more time with Him. Also Christian organization are making individual spiritual emphesisless less important these days. They would say it is not true however, I have seen it and many Christian leaders tell me the time that we expect is too much while I feel it is too little. As we grow a an organization we will work with other organizations to change all of this. We hope to make time with Jesus more of a priority on the mission field. Christianity is loosing too much ground on earth and I feel this could be part of the problem (only my opinion).

If you know any self-supporting ministers or missionaries you may want to let them know about our program and help them with their membership. The earlier they get started the sooner they will be able to receive support.
